Understanding Human Development: from childhood through Optimal Well-Being in the Family System — a Natural Learning Rhythms Intensive

More info here...

The EnCompass Institute, founded on the principles of child development and family dynamics as articulated by Natural Learning Rhythms, has these three components:

The Lab School—primary education for approximately 100 children ages 6-12, with an attached pre-school for 4-5 year olds. EnCompass will use the school to instruct other teachers in its practices. Child development guides curriculum, character development, interpersonal learning. It is the basis of communication between parent and teacher.

The Family and Professional Development Center—where school students’ parents and professionals learn about child development and family systems. EnCompass has a celebrated 25 years track record in using experiential learning to facilitate deep understanding. EnCompass will continue to support Portland, Bend and Ashland organizations through this arm of the Institute.

The Research Core—where trained researchers study and publish on the activities of the Lab School and Family and Professional Learning Center, contributing critical feedback for ongoing improvement.

The three components work together to maximize the learning and benefits for all participants. This insures relevant curriculum, meaningful and effective parent-teacher communication, community outreach through teaching others and collaborating with other child and family oriented organizations, and reliable research to improve best practices for all educational and family oriented institutions.
